Day 1: Arrive in Altay
Arrive in Altay and check in to your hotel. Meet your guide and prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Altay – Burqin/Habahe – Baihaba Village
Hiking: 4 km · approx. 2 hrs
Drive to Burqin or Habahe County to obtain the border pass, then continue to Baihaba Village. Explore this tranquil border village surrounded by rolling hills, and enjoy the sunset if weather allows.
Day 3: Baihaba – Kanas
Hiking: 24 km · approx. 8 hrs
Start the main trek from Baihaba toward Kanas, crossing gentle slopes, forests, and a small pass (1,874 m). Enjoy sweeping alpine views before descending toward Kanas Village — a long but rewarding day on foot.
Day 4: Kanas Leisure Day
Hiking: 10 km
Spend a relaxed day exploring Kanas Lake and its surroundings — including the Fish-Viewing Platform, lakeshore trails, Turuk Rock Paintings, and the old village.
Day 5: Kanas – Three Bays Trek – Jiadengyu
Hiking: 14 km · approx. 6 hrs
Begin at Fairy Bay to catch the morning mist, then follow the trail past Moon Bay and Dragon Bay before arriving at Jiadengyu. A scenic and satisfying day of classic Kanas landscapes.
Day 6: Jiadengyu – Bieke Ranch
Hiking: 22 km · approx. 8 hrs
Follow gentle ups and downs along forest tracks and open meadows. The path winds through birch, aspen, and spruce forests beside the rushing Kanas River — one of the most beautiful stretches of the trek.
Day 7: Bieke Ranch – Hemu
Hiking: 6 km · approx. 2 hrs
Trek along the Hemu River to reach the famous Hemu Village, known for its log cabins, peaceful valley views, and photogenic atmosphere.
Day 8: Hemu – Altay
Hiking: 4 km · approx. 2 hrs
Watch the sunrise from the Hemu viewing platform before heading back via shuttle to the Kanas Scenic Area entrance and driving to Altay.
Day 9: Departure
Free and easy day.
